elnino2026.org is an informational tool, not official government advice. We turn public hazard maps into a plain-language checklist, but we don’t guarantee that data is complete, current, or accurate for your specific property. Confirm anything that matters — insurance, evacuation, construction — against the official source we link to.
No guarantee of accuracy
We check the official maps when you ask, and may reuse an answer for up to 24 hours, or up to 7 days for a few that change slowly, such as which water system serves the spot. FEMA, CAL FIRE, NIFC, the California Geological Survey and the National Weather Service update those maps on their own schedule, our lookups can fail or return an incomplete answer (we label that “Couldn’t check” rather than guessing), and a point-in-polygon match isn’t a substitute for a site survey. Use this site as a starting point, not a final answer.

Links to official sources
Every hazard finding links to the agency’s own map or dataset. Where our summary and the official source disagree, the official source is correct.
Shopping and referrals
Some links on this site are affiliate or referral links, described in full on our Affiliate disclosure page. Buying through them doesn’t cost you more, and it never changes what’s on your checklist.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, elnino2026.org and the people who run it aren’t liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site, including decisions made based on a hazard finding, checklist item, or referral. The site is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind.
